Overview
Dating back to 900 a.d., Alaro Castle sits on a mountaintop that overlooks the small town of Alaro. The fortress has a tumultuous history, having been seized by the Moors, Romans, and Christians. Although today the castle is in ruins, it is still a monument worth seeing. Hiking is one of the popular ways to get to the castle. It's about a two hour hike and once at the top, there are panoramic views of beaches.
