Tasca Don Matute, Marbella

In the heart of the old town is this authentic bar, one of the few remaining where they still keep tabs of what you drink and write down what you owe with chalk on the wooden bar. There's an excellent range of cold meats, cured pork loin, salchichon, chorizo and morcilla-black/blood pudding and really good, top-quality cured ham. There are also tapas, including various potato salads, rice and migas,(fried bread crumbs or seminola with chunks of meat and grapes). But the best thing is the wine: reds, Riojas, Valdepenas, whites, sherry, etc. There's also draught and bottled beer. The bar is small and soon gets full, so always there are people standing outside.
