Overview
This building was once the General Hospital and is now the Siervas de San José School. It's located close to San Esteban. It began to be known as the General Hospital during the 16th century because it incorporated a number of local health centres. Regular theatrical performances were held here in order to raise funds to support the hospital. The plateresque courtyard - with its fantastic sandstone capitals and Gothic platforms in the corners supporting statues - is well worth visiting. The late-Gothic style chapel houses a lovely carved wooden baroque altarpiece. Admission is free.
