Artilugios para fascinar, Salamanca

The Filmoteca de Castilla y León (film library of Castilla y León) is exceptional in itself, but it is even more outstanding due to this permanent exhibition. This collection includes more than 200 devices and machines related to the seventh art, such as zoetropes, magic lanterns, projectors and praxinoscopes, loaned by Basilio Martín Patino, a local movie director, and which can be seen in several rooms devoted to the history of cinema. Apart from attending a demonstration of a traditional magic lantern, you can also try out several replicas of some of these devices yourself. Due to the unique characteristics of this collection, it is best to make an appointment beforehand. Admission: free.
