Overview
It will take you 20 minutes to get to Alba de Tormes from Salamanca. Santa Teresa de Jesús lived and died in this town in 1582. In fact, this museum of religious art is dedicated to this saint, and also to San Juan de la Cruz, as is most of the town. The museum was built atop the houses once belonging to Santa Teresa's very family. here you can find statues and paintings depicting these two saints, silverware from the 18th century and relics such as Santa Teresa's authentic signature, fabrics and clothing she used and even one of the saint's fingers. You can get there by bus (Salamanca-Alba de Tormes). Admission is free.
