Bar Tamboril at the corner of the plaza de la Constitución in the old part of San Sebastián is excellent, for several exciting events take place here all the year round. This charming venue is not too big but has two entrances that come in very handy when the place gets packed. A curious note: it's run by smiling and diligent twin brothers who will always be pleased to help you. They specialize in tapas. Try their excellent calamares (squid) or their delicious gambas a la gabardina (prawns fried in batter). As for drinks, go for a traditional Rioja or a cider.
