While many places to eat in this gastronomic mecca are either classy restaurant or pintxos bar, this restaurant has a bit of both. In parte vieja, you will find many tabernas that pray on tourists who don't know the difference between delicious cocina tradicional and tourist traps, but this place is always buzzing with locals and visitors alike, and for good reason: the pintxos, which are served all day, are some of the best on this street populated with countless pintxos bars-try the gambas, which are the house specialty. Alternatively, reserve a seat in the restaurant in the back where you can try some of the infamous meat and fish dishes that this region is famous for. -Emily Monaco
