Overview
Hydraulic power at its most powerful: witness iron-making, milling, and the production of electricity. The water system used at this 18th century foundry is worthy of mention, as it was designed to permit the water to be re-used from machine to machine. It's an interesting and original mode of energy conservation. The faithfulness with which the foundry's machinery has been reconstructed has enabled important experiments in archaeo-metallurgy to take place.
