The present church is on the remains of the temple begun in the 16th century, hidden by the renovations and extensions added in the 17th and 18th centuries. Some historians even trace the origin of this church back to the 12th century because of two small windows found in the chancel. The interior features one single rectangular nave and a straight altar. It is covered by cross rib vaults in a modern design. Other noteworthy features inside include an impressive 19th century altarpiece and a wooden choir. At the base of the building is the tower, and access is through an entryway constructed of wood.
