Oficina Regional de Turismo, Santander

The regional tourist office is in Plaza Porticada, near Paseo de Pereda. Facilities are modern, and staff give helpful information on Santander and the whole of the Cantabrian area. The office sells books and pamphlets published by the Cantabrian government on a wide variety of topics, ranging from cookery and art to tourism. The booklet on driving tours through the region is particularly interesting. There's plenty of information available on accommodation, as well as specific guides to areas such as Liébana, Campoo, and Santillana del Mar. If you are interested in taking an active holiday in Liébana, El Pas, Asón or on the Costa Oriental (East Coast), there are hiking and sports brochures, too.
