The large kitchen has an wood-fired oven burning oak logs and adding extra flavour to the traditional roast lamb and suckling pig. The Toledo-style partridge stew is well worth a try, as are the local wines from Valdepeñas, Jumilla and Almansa. The location could not be more atmospheric, alongside the historic city walls between the city gates called Bisagra and El Cambrón. The lush gardens are a replica of the Granada's Alhambra Palace gardens with a multitude of fountains.
