Casa Zapico, Toledo

This place is always full at the weekends with people who come to enjoy the carefully prepared traditional Asturian dishes. The quality of the fish and shellfish is excellent. They serve all the northern Spanish favourites, like bean stew with clams, octopus, roast ham, pimientos de Padron (small, spicy, fried green peppers) and clams in a seafood sauce. The ground floor cider bar servs tapas and appetizers such as Asturian cheese platters, platters of cured hams and chorizo in cider sauce as well as simple portions of the same kind of dishes offered in the restaurant, but in a less formal setting. The daily set menu costs EUR 7.
