Overview
Xàtiva is the capital of Costera county and is located some 60 kilometers south of Valencia. It was one of the natural routes into "The Kingdom of Valencia" from the plains to the west and Murcia or Andalusia to the south. It's a very interesting town for historical and cultural reasons. It's commonly known as the "City of a Thousand Fountains" and in it you'll find an Iberian-Roman castle that the Moors would later use as well. Another important monument is the Santo Domingo Convent built in the 14th Century. It's worth the trip.Transport: Commuter trains to Xàtiva leave from Estación del Norte station in Valencia.
