Ejea de los Caballeros, Zaragoza

Ejea, 85km away from Zaragoza, is the biggest town of the Cinco Villas (Five Towns) region. In addition to a population of 15,000, Ejea also boasts Romanesque elements: the church of El Salvador, with a tower with battlements (12th century), a church-fortress which reminds us that we are near the border (with the old Kingdom of Navarra) and has an interesting altarpiece (15th century). In the church of Santa María (12th century) it is said the first Courts of Aragón were held (several kings of Aragón here held Courts). Only a small part of the castle is preserved, and it is next to the apse of Santa María. You can get here by coach with Autobuses 5 Villas, Avenida Navarra 89.
