Overview
After the Second Vatican Council the Catholic Church renewed its outlook. This feeling of modernity is reflected in the church of Our Lady Carmen, built in 1962 by Jose Romero. It is a full of geometric lines and has a needle pointing out heaven. Some say it is one of the most striking buildings from the 60s. There is a door in front of Avenida María Agustín with a short but wide staircase. The interior is rectangular with stained glass windows. Behind the church is a student residence. Every day meals for the homeless are served here. Mass is conducted at: 8a, 9a, 11a, noon, 1p, 8p.
