Overview
One of the oldest theaters in Sweden, the Gothenburg City Theater was inaugurated in 1934 and features architecture from that time period. During WWII, controversial plays at odds with the conservative government were performed here. With this history, the theater is still known as a space for open discussion and debate, as well as innovative performances.
