Combles de l'Hôtel de Ville, Lausanne

The Town Hall, headquarters of the Commune's government, is an imposing building situated on the Place de la Palud. Standing from the outside, it is tough to tell just how large this building is, especially the roof. But from inside, the Town Hall's roof is enormous. In fact, the volume of space devoted to exhibitions spreads out through the equivalent of three floors. Whatever the exhibition on display, (generally paintings, sculptures or photographs), a detour to the top floor is definitely worthwhile, particularly for the magnificent wood framework. Unfortunately, exhibitions are rarely placed here.
