Molen van Sloten (windmill)
The Sloten Windmill (Molen van Sloten) is a reconstructed, working mill from 1847. It is the only mill open to the public in Amsterdam. An audiovisual presentation about Rembrandt's life, called 'Rembrandt in the attic' is shown here. There is also a model called 'Amsterdam and the water', showing the landscape as it was in 1630.

In Amsterdam during the mid 70's, the red light district felt rough and was considered unsafe by many. In 1975 The Bulldog was founded, a place where those who didn't feel safe could get away from the street and relax. This livingroom experience in combination with a "videotheek", showcasing American big screen movies was the birth of greater things to come.
Today you can still visit The Bulldog Nr. 90, the first in the World!, started by Henk de Vries. Easily found by the psychadelic painting covering the storefront of the building. These decorations took 6 years to apply and were done by one of Australia's finest artists, Harold (the kangaroo) Thornton. This shop is divided in 2 parts, upstairs a funky seating are and a bar with lots of comfortable stools. Downstairs is the videotheek lounge where the latest movies are shown and the story of The Bulldog can be seen through memorabilia and displays.
