Blok 4, Amsterdam

Blok4 is one of the new hotspots in Amsterdam for two reasons: it's located in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Ijburg (east of the city center, on the water), and it offers many organic and vegetarian options. The menu changes monthly, but you'll always find an array of salads, two soups, and delicious desserts from Holtkamp, one of Amsterdam's finest shops for sweets. Dinner options include a few different fish recipes, duck, and pastas. Lunch options are simpler: many sandwiches and salads, but they all feature 'hot' ingredients at the moment, such as goat cheese, buffalo mozzarella, and pesto. If it's warm weather, Blok4 is an absolute must! The view from their outdoor seating area will make you think you've left Amsterdam for the Dutch countryside. - Rachel Hanson
