Grand Café Heineken Hoek, Amsterdam

Located on Leidesplein, this Grand Café is everything you would expect from a Grand Café: it's big, it's beautiful, it's expensive and people come here to be seen, especially on weekends. This restaurant may not be everybody's cup of tea, but you'll probably want to have a look around anyway. Depending on the type of person you are, you'll either flee, running for the hills (not easy in Holland!) or blend in with the crowd and refuse to go anywhere else for the rest of the day. The terrace is a nice place to spend a sunny afternoon and there are plenty of sheltered spots inside where you can hang out and enjoy a bit of privacy.
