Loods 6, Amsterdam

The Loods 6 was built by the Royal Dutch Steamboat company in the early-1900s, and was thoroughly revamped in the year 1997. Over the years the building has functioned as a customs warehouse, a passenger terminal, and also a space for artists and squatters. The Loods 6 now houses within itself a host of offices, workshops, shops, as well as the Baggage Hall and the famous Compass Room. The Baggage Hall is a famous venue for music events, business presentations, exhibitions, as well as cultural shows. The hall is almost 100 meters long and 10 meters wide, and has a fire door that can divide it into two parts, which comes in handy when a smaller space is required for an event.
