One of the first coffee shops in Amsterdam, Mellow Yellow has been a fixture of the city since the 1970s. Found a little out of the city center, it is still walking distance, lying between Rembrandtplein and the Heineken Experience. Inside, the split level coffee shop has plenty of seating; people watchers may want the window seat or the stools looking down from above the bar. Indian themed murals cover the walls, keeping the feel of mellow Eastern spirituality, while a mix of hip-hop tunes play from the sound system and keep people moving to the beat.
