A fine stone house on the southern edge of Royal Victoria Park, the Hop Pole is a welcoming English pub with a nicely restored wood-paneled interior, a pleasant garden, well-kept beer and excellent food at reasonable prices. Sunday roast lunches are a special treat; generous and tasty. Many of the beers are brewed locally by Bath Ales - all nicely balanced, fresh and hoppy. Games and newspapers are provided too.
