Castle Coole is an 18th century castle built for the Earls of Belmore and designed by James Wyatt, a neo-classical architect. The castle grounds beg to be explored, the room of George IV is decorated perfectly down to the detail and the servant's tunnel is complicated and intriguing. The lush forest is landscaped down to the Lough Coole and is perfect for strolling. Events, concerts and demonstrations are held year round but it is best to check ahead for reassurance.
