Overview

This was one of the earliest Irish theme pubs to open in Edinburgh. It is situated right in the heart of the drinking den, of the Grassmarket area. Expect a lively atmosphere during the evening when the large circular bar is swamped. Prepare to be patient, as sometimes it is difficult to get served. During term time, it is packed with students and at weekends the crowd is a raucous mixture of the shirt and shoes brigade, rugby types and party groups. Lunchtimes are more civilized and there is a good choice of food.
