19 Numara Bos Cirrik, London

One of the best things about this Turkish restaurant is before your starters are whisked to the table, the attentive waiters will bring baskets of heavenly bread warmed over coals, with roast onion and pomegranate salad that is so good, it almost brings tears to the eyes. To make it even better, you can order a host of dips in small white saucers to make best use of the bread; cucumber, yoghurt and mint, and baba ganoush are all divine. For mains, the succulent lamb chops and lamb beyti (minced lamb  shaped with garlic and parsley) are favorites. Wash it all down with Efes, a great Turkish beer. In an area with a number of good Turkish grills, number 19 stands out.
