Overview

Commemorating the emancipation of slaves in 1834, the Buxton Memorial Fountain was designed by Samuel Sanders Teulon, a renowned Gothic architect. It was constructed in Parliament Square in 1865, then later moved to its current home in Victoria Tower Gardens in 1957.
