The Carpenters Arms is the quintessential English pub. Quaint and cozy with wooden oak furnishings and cloth-covered benches bordering the walls, the bustling atmosphere is often alive with banter and upon entering you may wonder where you're going to sit or stand for that matter. But you needn't worry. Through the other side is a spacious and stylish bar, aptly named the Belle Bar. There is also a roof terrace which is a great place to while away the summer evenings. On Monday's, The Carp's, as it's known by locals, slashes the cost of a bottle of wine to a giveaway price of GBP7.95 and on Tuesday's pit your wits against other guests at the quiz.
