Jamie Carter runs a gallery on the downstairs floor of his home residence. If you need the loo you have to go upstairs and queue in his kitchen, where his toddler daughter will tell you off if you linger too long! A good solid gallery with a reputation established over the last 5 years. Likely to catch an artist on their way to the giddy heights of fame, rather than at the top. Opening nights (check website for details) tend to be like a parade for the good the bad and the ugly of the burgeoning (and almost over-spilling) East London Artist scene – fueled by free beer and usually carrying on in a nearby local bar afterwards, this often promises to be a spectacle!
