Located near the end of "The Beach" - the portion of Fulham Road populated by Sloanes, Euros and other pampered people - Chives benefits from the overflow from the more popular restaurants on busy evenings, but is often empty during the week. The dining room is very pretty - too pretty, in fact, for the casual ambiance. Light wood furniture, dim lighting, modern art and lots of glass make the most of a narrow space. Chives only opened recently, but is already gaining a reputation for signature dishes such as butternut squash risotto, in addition to bringing back old favorites such as sponge and ice-cream. There's a good selection of seafood to be found here too. The wine list offers a good choice and the house wines are reasonable.
