Coat and Badge (The), London

Behind, the old-world outward appearance of this pub  belies an interior that is distinctly modern. Simple lines, warm yellows and vivid reds dominate, with bookcases spread around wooden tables and chairs, interspersed with big soft couches. A flickering coal fire adds to the cozy atmosphere. This is one pub with a lengthy and interesting history, one major part of which is the Coat and Badge Boat Race. This race takes place every year, and is the oldest continuous sporting event in the country.
