Freightliners Farm, London

Freightliners Farm is in Islington in the north of London. The name comes from the fact that the animals were originally housed in railway goods vans. It is a registered charity and one of the rare city farms in the UK that has a non-slaughtering policy. It contains gardens, a variety of animals. There are five beehives with a continental beehive in the process of being built. It has a fully equipped classroom where classes are run for adults and children on such topics as composting, spinning and weaving, animal care, carpentry, horticulture and bee keeping.
