Great Eastern Dining Room, London

Great Eastern is the name of the railway running out of nearby Liverpool Street, but far from being stuffy and train-like, this bar and restaurant is lively, loud and a lot of fun. The decor is quite simple - dark wooden walls and floors create a warm but unspectacular backdrop for an otherwise upbeat venue. It's the energetic staff and boisterous clientele that give the place its youthful feel. The Italian food is as simple as the decor - and all well prepared and very tasty. Lots of vegetarian alternatives are available, and there are some vegan dishes, too. Booking is essential for all.
