Ichiban Sushi, London

The epitome of minimalist chic, Ichiban is a teeny-weeny restaurant with a big menu, comprising everything from sushi to teriyaki salmon, stir fried noodles, tempura and Thai curries. It's a very pretty place to sit, with a great view over Atlantic Road. In the summer you can opt for the small but perfectly formed back yard which is painted bright green with three blue tables. Sushi (salmon roe, grey mullet, crab, octopus and sweet omelet) is delicious though reasonable. Tempura dishes and stir fries are also reasonably riced. Authentic Japanese drinks include sake and Japanese green tea. A veritable feast for both the stomach and the eyes!
