Overview
The ISKCON movement (Hare Krsna movement) was started by late Srila Prabhupada in 1966 with the intention of spreading Vedic teachings among the masses; today it is a worldwide cult that has even non-Hindu followers. Devoted to Krishna and Radha, their Soho temple is picture of serenity amidst all the bustle of Oxford Street. It is not only a religious sanctum but also a center for cultural activities like workshops, classes and community service. The morning Aarti is performed everyday at dawn at 4.30a sharp when the doors of the temple open. A definite must visit for those fascinated by Hindu culture.
