The London Buddhist Centre, in the heart of London's Buddhist Quarter, is housed in a large red-brick building that was a Victorian fire station in a previous incarnation. Now it is one of the West's largest urban Buddhist Centres featuring a beautiful mural, classic sculpture, and exuding calmness despite being in the middle of a large refurbishment and expansion project. Pop in for classes in meditation and Buddhism, or book longer four or five week courses. The Centre aims to be open and accessible to local people; perfect for some midday mindfulness. Do call or check out the website for timings.
