Overview
Originally providing a stately gateway to Buckingham Palace along The Mall, the Marble Arch was built in the mid 19th Century by John Nash and later moved as construction was being done on the East end of The Palace. Today, it serves as a major tourist attraction with its close proximity to Oxford Circus. The present location is actually the site of a former execution site named Tyburn Tree.
