Gastro-pubs often try to be a little flamboyant and ultimately over-priced in London, but the Perseverance has stuck with tradition and is on to a winner. The old British favorites like bangers and mash, roast gammon with a pineapple ring and a host of sharing platters are just the thing you need on a cold day in England's shivering capital. In fact, the only European leaning is chunky chips in ciabatta and mayo. The beer is also reasonably price and even though the wine list is fairly limited, it is also a creditable selection.
