Shoreditch has gained immense popularity due to the rise in its fashion quotient in the recent years. Mainly occupied by those in the creative industry, it has an entire gamut of restaurants and pubs. It has gained a very progressive life style after the influx of various media houses, art galleries, colleges and the likes. Before becoming a part of the inner city, Shoreditch was a part of the extramural suburb of London around the Shoreditch Church. It was a nunnery that belonged to the Augustinian priory of Halliwell order. Legend says it was named after the mistress of Edward IV, Jane Shore who died in a ditch. Shoreditch has the largest number of Striptease venues in London. Worth a visit if you're looking for some fun and historical awareness.
