Slug and Lettuce (The), London

Part of the well-known Slug and Lettuce chain, this pub is situated in one of the ornate old buildings that make up much of Putney High Street. The interior is decked out in light wood tones, with splashes of mood lighting and attractive ethnic artwork hanging on the walls. The lay-out is spacious, the music relaxed during the day, more up-tempo at night, and there are loads of big sofas to lounge upon. The upper floor has big-screen TVs for major sporting events, making this pub popular with cricket and football fans. The food menu has strong Mexican, Thai and Moroccan influences, with a specials board that changes daily.
