Stage Door Steakhouse & Bar, London

Not the obvious combination, this friendly, family-run theatre restaurant specializes in Scottish steaks and Greek cuisine. Stage Door Steakhouse & Bar has a homely atmosphere with warm, yellow walls decorated with cool, blue seascape paintings but it's definitely more for meat eaters as the menu doesn't have much for vegetarians (two mains to be precise). With eight steak dishes to choose from, several chicken and a good selection of fish, the Greek influence is not as obvious as the management make out. There are a few Greek starters, but only four Greek mains, and if it hadn't been for the welcoming Greek owner, it would have been easy to miss the Greek slant. However, with the emphasis on quality, and some delicious-sounding home made deserts, a visit is well worth it.
