Bistro West 156, Manchester

Bistro West 156 is a real favorite in West Didsbury, providing home-cooked food in relaxed surroundings. During the day you can drop in for breakfast (try the light-as-air kedgeree), lunch, or simply for coffee and cake, before a full dinner menu is served in the evening. The menu changes every four months to make the most of seasonal produce, although a few stalwarts are available all year round, including the chicken Kiev with butterbean and chilli mash. There is a commendable emphasis on use of local produce, although always cooked with an international twist, such as the Moroccan-influenced lamb tagine. A wide range of beers, wines and champagnes is available to wash down your meal.
