The Manchester Regiment is an unusual, but fascinating military museum covering the service and history of the 63rd and 96th Regiments of Foot. These regiments came to be known as The Manchesters in 1881, and the Museum of The Manchester Regiment follows their long history through to the formation of what is known today as the King's Regiment. There are some great displays of awards, medals and uniforms, with video monitors displaying rare archive footage. In addition, you can find exhibits about the more general social and political influence of the military presence in the local area.
