Opened to the public in April 1972 as a period house and local museum, this historic manor (which dates back to 1251), is now located in an unlikely spot in the middle of an area of industrial redevelopment, bordered by Salford Quays and a business park. The house itself includes some of the finest examples of Tudor architecture in the region, while local legend has it that Guy Fawkes actually planned the Gunpowder Plot in this very building. The Ordsall Hall Museum also runs a selection of events relating to aspects of local social history and traditional arts and crafts throughout the year.
