The Big Mussel has made a big impact at the Quayside, offering a real alternative to the very good, but very similar range of Italian and Indian restaurants that dominate the area. The exterior is a somewhat brash neon color, but inside the cool modern look is pleasing and even tranquil. As its name suggests, this restaurant specializes in seafood. There are at least a dozen different mussel recipes, as well as monkfish, sea bass, and a number of other fish dishes. But if your taste veers towards the land rather than the sea, then chicken and beef dishes are plentiful, as well as a limited vegetarian choice. A wide selection of Belgian beers is available to wash everything down.
