Cafe 21, Newcastle upon Tyne

This restaurant is situated in the building once occupied by the award winning restaurant 21 Queen Street, and although it is not as exclusive, or expensive as its predecessor this AA, and Good Food Guide recommended restaurant is still at the cordon bleu end of the market. Large windows, high ceilings, and crisp white table linen give Cafe 21 a clean and spacious feel, particularly in the larger of the two rooms. The menu is eclectic, but basically contemporary English, with salmon, and pheasant featuring among a number of meat, game, and fish dishes. Daily specials, and vegetarian choices can be found on the chalk boards inside.
