You have to walk up a dimly lit staircase to get to the unusually named Quilted Camel which is on the first floor. If the name has led you to expect a sand and fez theme bar forget it. The decor is an odd mix of styles, combining some of the original wood-paneled features of the old building with lots of colored glass, mirror balls, and modern lighting. At the top of the staircase you have two choices: the small rear bar which is windowless and where the lighting is usually kept low, and the music is usually kept loud; or the larger front bar which has large windows looking out over the Quayside and is altogether brighter. An interesting drinking experience awaits guest at this eclectic place. The steep stairs however, make access difficult for those with mobility problems.
