The 17th-century mansion at Wallington is located in the idyllic Northumbrian countryside. The Palladian architecture fits into a landscape which includes well tended lawns and gardens, and wilder woodland, riverside, and lake areas. Inside, the house combines rococo plasterwork with 19th-century wallpapers and wall paintings representing local history. The grounds are host to many events throughout the year, including open air theatre and music recitals, garden shows, sheep dog trials, nature walks, and much more. Not easily accessible by public transport.
