Broomhill Friery (The), Sheffield

This is apparently TV chef Ainsley Harriet's favorite chippy, and it really is one of the best around. As well as the usual fish, chips, kebabs, burgers and sausages, the Friery is constantly expanding its range, which now includes interesting alternatives such as lasagne, chilli con carne, spring rolls, cajun chicken and even calamari. The service is excellent:, a particularly nice touch is the way in which all orders come with a few complementary chips. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality of the food available makes this one of the best fish and chip shops in Yorkshire.
