Cromwell Arms (The), Southampton

An evening at Cromwell Arms gives a whole new dimension to restaurant dining. Nestled in a 400 year old building, the whole place emanates a warm inviting appeal. It is large with several nooks and corners, arranged in separate levels with adequate spacing between the tables to provide privacy. Traditional British feel is quite evident in the predominantly coffee-colored decor with wooden tables, orange drapes, subtle lighting and iron candle holders. The food is an absolute delight as the head chef creates magic with his range skills. Sunday lunches are a lovely affair, not forgetting birthdays and anniversaries, which are made memorable here. This place opens at noon everyday.
